Evergreen is committed to maintaining a staff of successful, highly skilled employees and to that end provides continual training to assure their professional growth.
Evergreen fosters a work environment of staff cooperation and sharing that is the foundation of "on the job" growth as well as supplying structured training such as guided "on the job" work experience, individual and group computerized learning, formal classroom and laboratory instruction and attendance at outside learning opportunities.
Evergreen is confident that the skills attained through continual training improve our staff's knowledge, abilities, confidence, and attitude; all of the necessary elements to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Thinking About a Technical Career?
Evergreen Offers Two Paths
Path 1: Work Experience & Secondary Education
Path 2: Work Experience & Technical Training
A good candidate would be someone who:
has completed their primary education
wants to continue their academic education
wants to earn an AA degree at the State certified college
wants to earn while they learn
wants to develop skills in demand "world wide"
wants to jump on a technical career path
The Program
Evergreen sponsors students in the JD TECH program, a 2 year course with a specialized curriculum designed in partnership with Walla Walla Community College, John Deere Co. and participating John Deere Dealers resulting in an AA Degree and certification in the following areas:
Hydraulics
Engine Diagnosis/Repair
Planting Equipment
Electrical/Electronics
Harvesting Equipment
Precision Farming (GPS)
A good candidate would be someone who:
has completed their primary education
has education beyond grade 12 (helpful but not required)
has been in the workforce for a length of time
has developed good work habits
has mastered skills that are transferable
has "real World" work experience
is looking for a "career", not just a job
The Program
This is based on a combination of Dealership work experience coupled with academic classroom and laboratory work on-site at Walla Walla Community college resulting in certification in these three core areas:
Electrical/Electronic Certification
Hydraulic Certification
Service Advisor Mastery
Both paths lead to enrollment in John Deere's Educate Program -- A program designed to supply life-long technical education and career development.
Management Courses
Management courses are divided into two types:
Service Management courses that deal with activities of operational management, marketing management and employee and customer relations that are specific to a John Deere Service Manager
The Management EDUCATE courses are leadership-management courses that bring together and explore management skills and styles for the Dealership management team
Each Individual has a "Training Plan"
Training plans are built to match employees' desires and company requirements
John Deere uses these plans to identify training needs and help develop the curriculum for training
Evergreen uses these plans to help "track" and "schedule" training events
