Heavy Plunger Drives Virtually Eliminate Plunger Surge |
1290 Standard Drive |
- Flywheel weight - 717#
- Flywheel diameter - 40"
- Moment of inertia* - 46 kg/m2
*Moment of inertia is a measurement of the force required to slow a spinning flywheel. |
- Gear box weight - 1880#
- Gear box capacity - 640 hp
1290 High Density and 12130
4x4 Standard Drives
- Flywheel weight - 1271#
- Flywheel diameter - 40"
- Moment of inertia - 79 kg/m2
- Gear box weight - 3030#
- Gear box capacity - 1100 hp
Heavy Duty Power Drives |
- All enclosed shaft drives
- No sprockets, chains or shear bolts
- Spring loaded Cam Clutch protection - When blockage occurs simply turn the PTO off; when the shaft slows down reengage the PTO and let power clear the blockage
Variable Filling System |
- All packer times operate on one cam
- Simple design, fewer parts, tighter fill
- Packer system protected w/ Cam Clutch -- no shear bolts
High Speed "Camless" Pickup |
- No cam, cam arms or cam bearings to wear out
- 25% increase in pick-up speed increases travel speed
Tandem Axles |
- Spring suspension - Gives smoother rides and cushions shock loads on the baler fram
- Transport speeds up to 40 mph
1290 Standard 3x4 Bale Size |
- Up to 15% higher bale weights in low density material such as: wheat straw; grass straw; timothy hat; corn stover
- Highest bale density in the world
- 25% higher bale weights in low density material such as: wheat straw; grass straw; timothy hay; corn stover

What a Neighbor has to Say About His Krone Baler |
The Krone HDP 3x4 baler has thus far exceeded all I thought possible in a big baler intended for high density baling. It is so quiet you can't hear it running versus the tractor you are driving. And, it has a very user friendly screen and control panel. the double knotters perform well and miss very few knots.
The most impressive quality of the baler is its ability to make a "brick" of a bale in the middle of a 100 degree day. As we are shutting other balers down when baling wheat straw, blue grass straw, etc., the HDP just keeps running making a bale that looks like it came out of a concrete mold. 1200 pounds is very attainable even in the middle of a summer day.
